“The Stray Cat Strut” by Amaya Alexia

She walked alone
Wanting nothing but warmth
Like an abandoned alley cat,
Longing for a home
She traded her smile
For an itchy kiss
Her legs
For a broken bed
She did as she was told,
Batting her eyelids
Never getting bold
She walked alone
While men called after her
women pitted her
So she hid
Behind the men
who filled her dish
